Friday 10 October: Red, White and Blue Day

You can see in our gallery below that we have had great fun dressing up to support ABF: The Soldiers’ Charity, The RAF Benevolent Fund and The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.

We also had a couple of school entries from Aseda and Louise (P5-The Pine Martins) for the Robert Louis Stevenson unveiling which were also entered into the “Green Pencil Award” poetry competition.  Our thanks to Mrs Tuiwaiwai for organising the Young Writers and helping them getting their entries sorted.

Scottish Sea

I am the
Sapphires and Topaz
mixed together
I am the
Whoosh
of the land
I am the
Glistening White
Emerald Green
Crystal clear
Scottish Sea
I am the
Silver
of the Kingdom
I am the
Foundation
of the Scots
I am the
Shining bright
Silky night
Scottish Sea
On the other hand
I am the
Murderous Black
Outrageous Purple
Terrifying Violent
Scottish Sea
Yes
I am the
Scottish Sea
You can’t ignore me
because
I am the
Scottish Sea

If I were the Sea…

If I were the Sea I wouldn’t let the Fisherman sit on me
If I were the Sea I would feel the tickle of the Seaweed
If I were the Sea I would bite the toes
of little children playing in the sand
If I were the Sea I would swallow up people…
whoever came near me.
If I were the Sea I would make the most
Outrageous most Terrifying waves
which go CRASH and BANG!
If I were the Sea
and I see
ANYONE
throwing rubbish in my beautiful Sea
I will go

Finally, we hope you all have a super half-term holiday and that we see you fully refreshed on Tuesday 21st October.
