It has been an exceptionally busy time for everyone at school lately. Our new P1s had their photographs taken at the beginning of last week for inclusion in the “New P1” Evening News supplement due out soon, and all our parents and carers were invited to school last week to meet their children’s new teacher. We realise that not all parents are able to make these meetings so we’d like to remind you that all of you are welcome to contact the school at any time if you have an issue you would like to discuss with your child’s teacher.
This week our P6/7 pupils began a 4 week block of rugby, with coaching provided by Boroughmuir Rugby Club. On Wednesday we had a visit from two volunteers from St Columba’s Hospice. They were at assembly to promote the Great Pentlands Push, a new event to raise funds for the Hospice.
On Thursday we invited parents of children in P6 and P7 to join us for an informational meeting about this year’s school camp at Lagganlia. All children were given a leaflet about the camp but more information can be found on their website. The school will be giving more information about the visit soon but we can confirm that the final balance for camp is due on Wednesday 31 October.
This morning the whole school went out onto the streets to see the soldiers from 1 Scots march to the local church service. The behaviour of the children was great.
Next week is Mrs Imrie’s last before she begins her maternity leave and promises to be just as busy!
